Vacation´s over. And not a moment too soon, we´re knackered from working on the cottage.

Próximo/Next up
I have this, embroidered 100% linen with sequins (shiney!), which delights me. I am running out of summer to make linen dresses, so I´d better get a move on.
I´m also intrigued by petal sleeves, though a little concerned about 2 layers of fabric gathered or pleated into an armscye, but we´ll see what happens.

Lazos/Chain loops
I´ve put chain loops for bra straps in the dress. They´re quite easy to do, and also work for belt loops, etc.
I used a double thread. Take a few stitches for security and then make a loop.
Pass the thread through the first loop, creating another.
Apreta el nudo hasta quedar firme. Repite hasta que está suficientemente largo.
Tighten the knot until just firm. Repeat until the chain is long enough for your purpose.

Jabon/Soap
After a visit to Riesgo for new supplies of coconut and almond oil, this batch came out of the slow cooker. Shea and cocoa butter, olive, almond, coco and castor oils. A fresh, green mix of essential oils like euchalyptus, sage, cedar, vetivert, orange and lime. Nettle powder gives the pretty celadon color.
The good thing about the slow cooker is only having to wait 2 weeks and not 6 before using.
Barra de 1 kilo
A esperar. . .

Houston, tenemos un problema
Nunca falla.
It never fails. Just when all appears to be going well, suddenly it turns on you and there´s a disaster to try to save. In this case, I wasn´t sufficiently vigilent in separating part of the dress from the jaws of the overlock machine.
Y con un corpiño nuevo. Me encanta este retal de lino.
And with a new bodice. I love this embroidered linen remnant.
